This very textured painting is a NEWBIE and out of my comfort zone as I seem to paint alot of coastals and flowers. This painting was inspired by my recent holiday to the Yorke Peninsula SA, we were driving to the coast but you travel a few hours through many wheat and grain farms. I often sketch my ideas when away then do a quick rough mock up on paper for colour inspo and positioning. I do love travelling through this region as such a contrast to the green hills I live in and very flat and dry there but feels so Australian and you feel so free from everything. Look at the close ups for the textures and colours. Very Australiana! I have signed the side as very textured. Ive also used gold metallics through the field and the trees are a very deep brown.
